Lotus Notes 6.5 to 7 User Update
Description - This course is designed for Lotus Notes 6.5 users who want to learn the most important and useful Notes 7 features in the shortest time possible. Notes 7 enhances the core Notes Desktop as well as the Mail application, and this course takes you on a quick tour of the changes.
Course goals - In this course, you will learn about these new features found in Notes 7:
-
Notes Desktop. You will find it easier to work with all the Notes windows you have open. You can opt to have Notes restart with the same windows you last had open and with one click, close all open windows. AutoSave automatically saves all the Notes documents you have open in Edit mode every few minutes so that you can hopefully recover your unsaved work following a crash. Instant messaging is even further integrated into Notes, allowing you to initiate Instant Meetings (with all the collaboration and audiovisual tools) from even more places where names appear.
-
Mail. Because mail archiving is so important, you will review how to archive mail locally using the new interface. You will also discover many minor improvements that have major productivity-enhancing capabilities.
-
Calendar. A new set of views help you isolate and manage meeting correspondence. To help keep your Mail database trim, a new feature lets you delete old calendar entries with just a few keystrokes.
-
Room and Resource Reservation. The improved reservation process increases confidence that you have successfully booked a room or resource and that it has not been overbooked or trumped by a direct reservation made from the Resource Reservation database. Resource owners can exercise more control over their assets and increase the fairness of access to the resources by limiting how far in advance they can be reserved.
Audience - This course is designed for users who are familiar with most Notes 6.5 features.
Duration - This course is designed as a 1/2 day course.
